Maine health officials want to make a prescription pot patient-monitoring program optional. Now, users must participate in a state ID program that keeps track of them, according to The Associated Press.
The proposed changes are the first since 2009, when curative cannabis got the OK in the state.
Well, if the reforms get enacted, cops would be barred from seizing marijuana "belonging to a patient, caregiver or dispensary" unless they have more than the legal amount or if said seizure relates to a criminal investigation.
One reform has drawn the ire of some medical marijuana advocates.
That proposed change would require 8-foot privacy fences around any outdoor medical marijuana cultivation site, the AP notes.
