Since there has been a lot of curiosity to see the new Pro-Grow 260 in the Veg-Tent, here’s a few quick shots (so ease up on the emails 😉 lol!).
From what I’ve seen so far, just after hanging it then plugging it in (Oh yeah, that’s it! Unpack, hang, plug it in, done!), Hydroponics Hut has really done a nice job on tuning the power draw while kicking the intensity & coverage up. The Pro-Grow 260 pulls about 170 watts running full spectrum (less at veg & all red Bloom modes), at only about 40 watts more draw than the previous light, it is at least 50% more coverage & brightness! That equates to more bud and less electric bill!
The 260 series case is the same as the 180’s (though it seems beefier), but that is where the similarities end. Seeing them in person, the LED density is very noticeable, even the lenses look slightly bigger. I’d say it is also heavier by a pound or so.
The difference between the previous light and the Pro-Grow 260…
Above is the Pro-Grow 180. Below is the 260. Not surprisingly, there is a considerable difference in intensity. To be fair to the 180, in these pics, the 260 is at the same height the 180 was, and the 180 is last year’s model (which has also been improved for 2011). The 260 has since been moved up about another 8″ and is still delivering as much or more light.
Well, that is it for now, the pics as promised 😉

I look forward to updating with more detail soon!
